What causes bad breath?

Bad breath, also known as halitosis, can be caused by a variety of factors including poor oral hygiene, certain foods, tobacco use, dry mouth, medical conditions, and certain medications. In some cases, bad breath may be a sign of a more serious underlying health issue. Maintaining good oral hygiene practices such as brushing and flossing regularly, using a tongue scraper, and drinking plenty of water can help prevent bad breath. If the problem persists, it is recommended to see a dentist or physician for an evaluation.
