Porcelain veneers are a fabulous idea if you would like to improve your smile with the most durable and premium material possible. One of the best things about porcelain veneers is that they do not stain and they can be created to give you a natural smile or a smile that belongs in Hollywood.

1. What condition are your natural teeth in?

Porcelain veneers are usually recommended for people with compromised natural teeth. The reason for this is that porcelain veneers do require more preparation of the tooth. Prepping teeth for veneers requires taking a small amount of enamel from the tooth, compromising the natural structure. This is done so that the veneer does not protrude or look bulky. Although your dentist will only keep the preparation to a minimum you do need to be prepared for the work that is required. If you do have healthy natural teeth you do need to consider if you do want to compromise your natural teeth.
