Invisalign are types of invisible clear braces / aligners used to straighten teeth discreetly, without affecting the daily routine of the patient. These are custom made, comfortable, removable and clear aligners which are replaced every 2 weeks till the teeth are in the final projected position.
Invisalign aligners are nearly invisible. No one may be aware that you’re wearing these almost invisible aligners, making Invisalign a very smooth fit with your daily routine and day-to-day interactions with others.
Invisalign aligners are removable giving you the flexibility to eat and drink what you want during treatment by simply removing the aligners. And you can also remove the aligners to brush and floss as you usually would for fresh breath and to maintain good oral health.
There are no metal brackets or wires like traditional braces and no ‘train tracks’! This means that in most cases less time is spent in your Invisalign Provider’s practice for any changes needed.
And finally, Invisalign allows you to view your virtual results and treatment plan before you even begin treatment so you can see how your teeth are expected to look when your treatment is complete.
Normally it is with our co-ordinators with whom you can have a heart to heart chat about your concerns and expectations over a cup of tea/coffee.
They will explain all the treatment options with photos, videos and brochures. You will also have a chance to have a practice tour and get familiarised with the place and the team.
At this appointment, the dentist will do a comprehensive examination of the patient’s teeth and gums and discuss with them what exactly they are looking for.
This is followed by a providing a detailed treatment plan which will have all the details about the timelines, costs and type of treatment needed.
This appointment includes taking impressions of your teeth, photographs, Xrays to be sent out to the company for Clin Chek and making the customised aligners.
This is also called as ClinChek which involves showing you a digital 3 dimensional models of the teeth and the step by step changes which are anticipated in advance to achieve the goal of lovely straight teeth. So you can see what your teeth will almost look like at this appointment itself !!
Once the treatment of re-aligning the teeth is agreed on by the patient and the dentist, instructions are provided to the laboratory to make the customised Invisalign Aligners which arrive in a few weeks. The first set of aligners are then fitted along with full training and instructions on how to use them. Your Invisalign Journey has now started…
